“why cold symptoms worsen at night”
It says something about cortisol level being high during daytime thus making you feel better, and when night time comes, immune system takes over to do some serious fighting, which means all symptoms worsen (that’s when immune system attacks germs). Lying down put pressure on the sinus system so you feel more congested and more irritation in throat. I like google better the the doc’s answer.
me: “why do i have this stupid itchy throat just at night?”
doc: “oh, it’s simple, because lying down put pressure on certain areas…” [trails off and eyes glued to the laptop, ignoring me completely for the rest of the time.]
