last night was rough
Posted July 7, 2010on:
last night started out well enough, with May falling asleep around 11pm, which is considered “early” in Boston. But I don’t know whether it’s because of the heat, or because she was hungry, she kept on waking up, thrashing around, and latched on all night long. The last thing I wanted in this heat is human contact, and May was sweating a lot even with the big fan on high right next to her. Man. I was in such a foul mood. I tried my best to feed her tonight, but she is still restless. Must be the damn heat. Gaaah. There window doesn’t have any screen, so we can’t open for ventilation 😦
Took her into the Aquarium to cool down today. She was enjoying herself for a little while, but at one point, she started to get down on her hands and knees, crawled for quite a bit, and then just laid down on the ground. So I basically paid admission fee for May to take a nap in the Aquarium. When it closed at 6pm, May woke up, we ate ice cream, splashed around in the public fountain near the T, and then went home to meet up with An.
Tonight An’s down in Woodshole, in a very very hot apt with 5 heat producing bodies and NO FANS. May and I are still here in Boston, with fans on both sides of the bed (taking advantage of An’s absence). An & company will bike for 80+ miles from Woodshole to Province Town. May and I will take the ferry tomorrow out to Herring Cove beach to meet up with An if she will still be alive. Beach sounds so nice right now. RIGHT. NOW. I’m going to drink a full glass of ice water and then join May in bed. I hope she’ll sleep better.
Some goddamn motherf—– mosquito bit me on July 4th and the bite is swelling up to the size of a fist in diameter. It itches. Grrrrrrr.
